Rules for Indoor Soccer

RULES FOR RSHS BOYS INDOOR SOCCER 2009-2010

1. Must wear shin guards at all times while playing
2. We play in Tiger Gym (Downstairs Gym)
3. Basic rules of soccer apply (No hands, no pushing, no grabbing…)
4. Excessive fouling or a harsh foul will result in a yellow or red card. (A player who receives a yellow card will have to sit out for 2 minutes and a player who receives a red card will have to sit out for the rest of the evening)
5. Absolutely no arguing calls with the coaching staff (will result in an indirect kick for other team or yellow card for player)
6. Ball is out of play if it touches the ceiling, basketball hoop, goes through a door or out of gym area. (Such as into the bleachers or one of the open areas on the east end of gym) (The side walls and walls behind the goal are in play. Ball can be kicked off of the walls)
7. A ball that goes out of play will result in; an indirect free kick, a goal kick or corner kick depending on the situation.
8. All fouls will result in an indirect kick from the spot of the foul.
9. Goalkeeper can only handle the ball in the 3-point area where their goal is located.
10. All balls from the goalkeeper with-in the 3 point area (thrown) must be touched by a field player before it passes mid-court.
11. Arriving on time will assure the player placement on a team for that night. (Players who arrive late may have to wait for their placement on a team)
12. Coaching staff will place players on teams (Not players picking their own teams)
13. Players are divided into teams of 5 – 8 players and play against other teams for 5 minutes at a time. (Winning team stays on, a tie is a loss for the returning team and house rule is one team up by 2)
14. Players who are currently in a high school sponsored sport for the winter (basketball, wrestling, swimming, indoor track) must get permission from their current coaches to be able to play at indoor soccer.
15. Indoor Soccer is for RSHS BOYS SOCCER players (Other players must have prior permission from Coaching staff before playing)

Additional Rules for Indoor League
1) If a player receives a red card they are suspended for the next indoor league game.
2) Two red cards in a season and the player is disqualified for the rest of the season.
3) There are Yellow Card accumulation, 2 yellow cards during the season = 1 match suspension.
4) Each match will consist of two (10) ten minute halves.
5) The teams will have a 2 minute half time and will switch sides.
6) Each team will have a roster with a maximum of 10 players.
7) Only players on the official roster can participate.
8) Standard play will be 7 v 7 (including goal keepers).
9) Every team member present must play every half, or team is disqualified.
10) The team members handle their own subs.
11) During league play the winning team receives three points, a draw is 1 point and a lose is zero points.
12) You must have 5 players to play, the other team can field upto 7 if they choose.
13) If your team is not ready when your match is scheduled, you may forfeit the match.
14) The league table will help for seeding in the tournament at the end of the season.
15) If there are ties for seeding the 1st tie breaker is goal differential, if still tied we will flip a coin.
16) Tournament matches that end in a tie will next go to two (3) minute overtime periods - sudden victory.
17) If still tied after sudden victory overtime, then penalty kicks from the top of the three point area. 5 kickers - best of five.
18) If still tied after 5 kickers, repeat the same five kickers but now sudden death.
